Jarrow has been twinned with the German town of Wuppertal for the past 33 years and with our German friends we exchange visits every 2 years. This year it was our turn in Jarrow to act as hosts and during their week's stay our friends visited the Lake District and the Shildon Railway Museum and also experienced a cruise on the river Tees. Further activities included a visit to the Catherine Cookson Museum, the National Glass Centre at Sunderland and a civic reception at South Shields Town Hall.
